Use #573 for a Twelve South BookArc Box… a bicycle bag storage box!

In every BookArc box there is a list of 12 things to do with your package after it’s done holding your BookArc of course. We have always felt that if we can add value – even to the packaging – we should. And from an earth-friendly standpoint, re ‘using’ beats re ‘cycling’ any day.

That said, we’ve also enjoyed seeing other customers’ ideas about reusing our packaging as well. Here is one of the more unusual uses we’ve seen recently. Apparently, our box is the perfect size to fit this handy strap-on bicycle storage bag. Who knew!

BassJump Review: “Twelve South’s idea of using all of the speakers in tandem is genius”

Really nice review of BassJump…

This is the perfect device for those who want some increased quality out of the Macbook speakers on the go, but don’t want to put their built-in speakers to waste. Twelve South’s idea of using all of the speakers in tandem is genius, and other manufacturers of portable speaker devices should look to this lead. After all, why waste the high-quality speakers Apple built into your laptop? All in all, I am deeply satisfied with my BassJump. It is a hands-free, simple, and efficient solution to a recurring problem for any laptop user. It doesn’t have the jumbled cords of most portable speaker setups, and it fits in perfectly with the design of Apple’s laptops.

Twelve South brings color back to the Mac with SurfacePad Colors for MacBook

New SurfacePad Colors for MacBook

Charleston, SC, April 23, 2010 – Twelve South introduces SurfacePad Colors, a thin layer of soft leather designed exclusively for protecting and personalizing the keyboard surface of the Apple® MacBook or 13-inch MacBook Pro. Inspired by Apple’s history of colorful iMacs and iPods, SurfacePad brings four hues to accent the MacBook: Orange Crush, Cyan Blue, Infinite Grey and Perfect Pink. They are available now and retail for $29.99 each. More information and images can be found at http://twelvesouth.com.

The new SurfacePad Colors from Twelve South

Made from soft, premium leather, SurfacePad Colors is a fun way to give your MacBook a distinct, custom look that stands out in classrooms, coffee shops and anyplace else MacBook goes. Along with making a colorful statement, SurfacePad Colors provides a layer of protection that keeps the surface around the keyboard deck free of scratches and those distinct discoloration marks your wrists leave after regular use. The bright white finish of your Mac will be retained without adding bulk.

“Users love the rainbow of iPods and iPhone cases available to them. When they want to accessorize their MacBook the same way, there wasn’t many options. SurfacePad Colors provides a great way to personalize a MacBook with a nice pop of color that not only protects the MacBook from scratches and stains, it makes it more comfortable to use as well,” said Andrew Green of Twelve South.

SurfacePad Colors in Perfect Pink

SurfacePad Colors also provide a nice cushiony surface that makes long stretches on MacBook easier on the wrists. Apply the color of your choice and you instantly have a cooler looking Mac that is more comfortable to work on. At a mere .7 mm thin, SurfacePad does not interfere with your MacBook closing and going to sleep.

These leather shields stay in place using a special adhesive that leaves no trace or sticky residue. More importantly, the adhesive allows you to reposition the one-piece SurfacePad for super-easy installation. You can even remove SurfacePad entirely for a short period of time letting you collect and switch colors as often as you wish.

A note about BookArc for iPad Insert #2…

BookArc for iPad ships with 2 inserts: Insert #1 comes installed and allows you to place your iPad in 4 different positions; vertical portrait or landscape and tilted portrait or landscape. Insert #2 simply adds a pad to the BookArc slot in an attempt to allow the use of any case that fits inside. Now that iPad is shipping and we’ve been able to test actual cases with Insert #2, we’ve learned that many cases tilt over when used with Insert #2. The solution is simple: just remove the silicone insert entirely. This allows most cases we’ve tested to work with BookArc for iPad just fine.

BookArc for iPad works great with the Apple Case for iPad! See for yourself.

BookArc for iPad with Apple iPad Case………… BookArc for iPad with Apple iPad case - landscape

We’ve been testing several cases with the BookArc for iPad and one of our favorites is the popular iPad Case from Apple. But there’s a trick to making it work. It works best by removing the silicone insert entirely from the BookArc for iPad. This allows handy storage in either portrait or landscape orientation. Flip open the cover on the Apple iPad Case and set it in BookArc for iPad to view movies, pictures, and slideshows hands-free. Even though the Apple Case can stand on it’s own, it’s a sturdier safer place in the BookArc at your desk or at home. This is the case + stand combo we’ve been using ourselves for several weeks now and we love it. We think you will too.

Apple Gazette BackPack Review – “If you’ve got an iMac, this should be your next purchase”

The best parts:

It’s a well designed product that flows with the look of the iMac, making it seem like a natural extension of the product. Frankly, if I didn’t know that Apple didn’t make iMacs that way, I would’ve figured it was standard fare.

At $29.99, it’s not cheap, but in my mind, it’s worth it. It’s an easy way to clean up the desk clutter that so many of us have and loathe, without sacrificing the looks that, let’s face it, many of us love about our Macs. If you’ve got an iMac, this should be your next purchase.
