Posh NYC Restaurant Uses iPad + BookArc for its Wine List…

Kinda cool. South Gate on Central Park South in NYC now has a custom app for the house wine list that it presents to its customers on an iPad. It also uses a slick new iPad stand to present it with – our very own BookArc for iPad. The BookArc seems to fit into its posh setting quite well. Be sure to stop in next time you’re in NYC and need a quick glass of wine.

“There’s a bunch of products to hold your iPad… My absolute favorite is the BookArc.” – ModMyi.com

The great team at the all Apple news site, ModMyi.com took a look at the BookArc for iPad this week. They concluded that of all the stands for iPad, the BookArc for iPad was their “absolute favorite”. They also mention my favorite thing to hear a reviewer say – that they didn’t just review the product and move on – they love the product because they use it every day! Check it:

There’s a few things that are always on my desk. Speakers, a couple Apple Cinema Displays, a couple USB hubs, a couple iPhone Xtand’s, a couple KidRobot toys, and my BookArc for iPad from TwelveSouth. There’s a bunch of products that exist to hold your iPad when you’re not holding it. Sure. My absolute favorite is the BookArc though

Notebooks.com adds BookArc to its “Must Have MacBook Accessories for College Students”…

Notebooks.com included our BookArc for MacBooks in their list of “Must Have MacBook Accessories for College Students“. Even cooler though, the author Carter Sprunger reveals the BookArc is a key component in his own personal set-up. Its one thing to mention a product, it’s quite another to recommend a product because it’s sitting right on your desk and you use it yourself every day.

This is my current set-up, which I enjoy very much. When paired with an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse, the BookArc allows you to truly get a desktop feel when you are at your desk. Just slide your MacBook into the stand, connect your monitor, and your are good to go. The design allows for better heat dissipation as well as well as safety from items on your desk that may scratch your MacBook. Also, with your MacBook closed, the video RAM goes directly to power your external monitor, providing a considerably faster experience.

CNET says BassJump is a ‘Must-have Mac accessory’ – sweet.

CNET says:

… if you’d like to improve your MacBook’s audio output, but aren’t quite ready to make the leap to a full set of external speakers, Twelve South’s BassJump could be the ideal solution.

Designed primarily for Apple laptops, the BassJump provides a noticeable improvement to the depth and clarity of your MacBook’s audio playback. At $80, it’s perhaps a bit expensive for such a focused task, but its Mac-consistent design, compact size, and handy control software help its appeal. We also like that it’s USB-powered, so you only need to mess around with a single cable.

Use #573 for a Twelve South BookArc Box… a bicycle bag storage box!

In every BookArc box there is a list of 12 things to do with your package after it’s done holding your BookArc of course. We have always felt that if we can add value – even to the packaging – we should. And from an earth-friendly standpoint, re ‘using’ beats re ‘cycling’ any day.

That said, we’ve also enjoyed seeing other customers’ ideas about reusing our packaging as well. Here is one of the more unusual uses we’ve seen recently. Apparently, our box is the perfect size to fit this handy strap-on bicycle storage bag. Who knew!

BassJump Review: “Twelve South’s idea of using all of the speakers in tandem is genius”

Really nice review of BassJump…

This is the perfect device for those who want some increased quality out of the Macbook speakers on the go, but don’t want to put their built-in speakers to waste. Twelve South’s idea of using all of the speakers in tandem is genius, and other manufacturers of portable speaker devices should look to this lead. After all, why waste the high-quality speakers Apple built into your laptop? All in all, I am deeply satisfied with my BassJump. It is a hands-free, simple, and efficient solution to a recurring problem for any laptop user. It doesn’t have the jumbled cords of most portable speaker setups, and it fits in perfectly with the design of Apple’s laptops.

Twelve South brings color back to the Mac with SurfacePad Colors for MacBook

New SurfacePad Colors for MacBook

Charleston, SC, April 23, 2010 – Twelve South introduces SurfacePad Colors, a thin layer of soft leather designed exclusively for protecting and personalizing the keyboard surface of the Apple® MacBook or 13-inch MacBook Pro. Inspired by Apple’s history of colorful iMacs and iPods, SurfacePad brings four hues to accent the MacBook: Orange Crush, Cyan Blue, Infinite Grey and Perfect Pink. They are available now and retail for $29.99 each. More information and images can be found at http://twelvesouth.com.

The new SurfacePad Colors from Twelve South

Made from soft, premium leather, SurfacePad Colors is a fun way to give your MacBook a distinct, custom look that stands out in classrooms, coffee shops and anyplace else MacBook goes. Along with making a colorful statement, SurfacePad Colors provides a layer of protection that keeps the surface around the keyboard deck free of scratches and those distinct discoloration marks your wrists leave after regular use. The bright white finish of your Mac will be retained without adding bulk.

“Users love the rainbow of iPods and iPhone cases available to them. When they want to accessorize their MacBook the same way, there wasn’t many options. SurfacePad Colors provides a great way to personalize a MacBook with a nice pop of color that not only protects the MacBook from scratches and stains, it makes it more comfortable to use as well,” said Andrew Green of Twelve South.

SurfacePad Colors in Perfect Pink

SurfacePad Colors also provide a nice cushiony surface that makes long stretches on MacBook easier on the wrists. Apply the color of your choice and you instantly have a cooler looking Mac that is more comfortable to work on. At a mere .7 mm thin, SurfacePad does not interfere with your MacBook closing and going to sleep.

These leather shields stay in place using a special adhesive that leaves no trace or sticky residue. More importantly, the adhesive allows you to reposition the one-piece SurfacePad for super-easy installation. You can even remove SurfacePad entirely for a short period of time letting you collect and switch colors as often as you wish.
